Very Hard: Ben Nevis by the Carn Mor Dearg Arete.

Just before the winter season comes to a close I have to fit this one in. This is the finest way to climb Ben Nevis. This is a truly spectacular route incorporating two Munros. It will live long in the memory and does true justice to the mountain. There may not be much snow but there will be some and the way this winter has been going who know's there may be a lot! Crampons and an ice axe is essential as is some winter experience and the ability to tackle 1650M of accent. Summary Grade (See explanation): Very Hard Distance: 15km Ascent: 1650m Time: 8 to 10 hours Sunset time: 20:25 Meetup Location: Fort William Ice axe and crampons required Route It would be best but not a requirement to find accommodation for this meet due to the early 8:00am start. On Saturday if the weather permits it a group of us will be going to do some easy climbing at the Polldubh crags in Glen Nevis. After that a bite to eat and some drinks in the Grog & Gruel which is located half way down Fort William's pedestrianised High Street. On Sunday it will be an early start time of 8:00am, we will walk as a group and stick to the standard route for the CMD.
