King Tut's Wah Wah Hut Glasgow or King Tut's Glasgow as it is more locally known, opened in 1990 and was created with the intention of it becoming known as the Scottish venue for the best in new and already established bands.
Within months, King Tut's Glasgow had gathered a considerable and loyal following, and for good reason. The venue's promoters' proved their worth immediately, securing King Tut's Glasgow gigs for any number of bands who would then go on to make it big. Really big. Oasis, Travis and Radiohead are just a few of those bands featured on the King Tut's schedule in the early years.
Supergrass, Ash, Pulp, Deacon Blue, Gomez, Catatonia and the Manic Street Preachers amongst others have all followed suit, treating the crowds at King Tut's Glasgow to unforgettable performances in the intimate setting. Despite it's huge reputation, King Tut's Glasgow has a relatively small capacity of just 300 people; a perfect number to ensure that both performer and fan make the absolute most of their live music experience.
King Tut's Glasgow is as revered within industry circles as it is by performers and fans, too. Over the years, it has garnered such awards as 'Best Launch Pad Venue', 'UK's Best Live Venue' and 'Licensed Music Pub of the Year.'
